MindfulLEIGH’s Mindfulness for Adults

“Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose.”

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Do you ever feel like the world is spinning incredibly fast and you can barely get a grip? This is common place for both children and adults these days! As parents, teachers and caregivers of children we all want our children to live up to their potential. How can they if they are stressed, tired and generally have TOO much mentally and physically on their mind? How can we, as adults, support the children in our lives if we are also “burning the candle at both ends”. The answer…We CAN’T.

In America, the “more is better” mentality is not working. Our bodies, minds, and spirits must have time to rest and recharge so we can get more quality out of our efforts. This is were mindfulness practices become incredibly powerful. The research is clear in that mindfulness practices change the brain! So it turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks. At the same time, mindfulness for children is a true gift. Something that requires very little, but will last an entire lifetime of navigating life’s struggles.

At MindflLEIGH we are trying to bust the myth that to practice mindfulness or meditation you have to sit like a pretzel for long periods of time to get the positive benefits that come with finding quiet time. Mindfulness practices can be plugged into your daily routine just like making your coffee and brushing your teeth every day. All you need is the desire to be your best self and believe that you can create new habits
